Important Message for Patients

RotoProne™ Therapy 24-Hour Promise*

The RotoProne™ Therapy 24-Hour Promise is our commitment to share the financial burden with you in treating your patients with RotoProne™ Therapy.

KCI will not charge for the first day of therapy if the patient’s PaO2/FiO2 does not show at least a 20% improvement after the first 24 hours of therapy.

The RotoProne™ Therapy 24-Hour Promise is subject to the following criteria:

  • PaO2/FiO2 >60 and <200 upon initial placement
  • During the first 24 hours, patient must be in the prone position upon physician orders for a minimum of 18 of 24 hours
  • Patients with a PaO2/FiO2 below 60 upon initial placement are not included
  • Adherence to all device labeling, instructions for use, on-screen guides, inservice and training materials, and published clinical guidelines for the duration of placement

The O2 Promise*

Studies support improved patient oxygenation and outcomes

KCI will pay the daily RotoProne™ Therapy rental fee! Here’s how it works:

Place mechanically ventilated patients on the RotoProne™ Therapy System within 12 hours of their pulmonary status reaching any two of the following:

  • FiO2=60%
  • PEEP=8
  • PaO2/FiO2 <200
  • Bilateral pulmonary infiltrates on chest radiograph

Prone and rotate patient at least 40° bilaterally for at least 18 hours per day until ventilator status† is optimized.

†Ventilator Optimization is defined as holding for 24 hours at less than 60% FiO2 and 10 or less of PEEP.

RotoProne™ Therapy 96-Hour Financial Guarantee*

When your patient is treated with RotoProne™ Therapy and no improvement is demonstrated within 96 hours, KCI agrees to share the financial risk specifically related to the cost of the product rental by providing the therapy system placement for that patient at no charge. The guarantee is subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Patient should be placed on RotoProne™ Therapy within 24 hours of meeting criteria for ARDS.
  • Patient should be rotated at least 40° bilaterally in the prone position for at least 18 hours per day.
  • Adherence to all published KCI product instructions for use, operations manuals, protocols, system labels, and
    on-screen guides.
  • If the patient shows NO improvement in oxygenation (increased PaO2/FiO2 ratio), blood gases, or chest radiograph within the first 96 hours of treatment, AND the facility notifies KCI before discontinuing the therapy, KCI will issue the therapy system placement for that patient at no charge to the institution.
